Took my '06 Attak in for some service work Saturday. Oil / filter change, check the chain / gears, check the driveshaft speedo side bearing.

The main reason I took it in was the last couple rides I was hearing a loud "Pop" as I decelerated to a stop. The dealer found that an exhaust clamp had come loose, and the exhaust pipes had beat themselves to death. Cost for all the pipes, gaskets, clamps, $420 + 2 hours labor.
The dealership called Yamaha to see if they would cover it, although my warranty ran out in November and my sled has 5400 miles. Yamaha agreed to cover the parts, I will have to pay the labor.

I think that's a pretty decent deal, although it drove a stake through the heart of converting my wife to Yamaha. We're going to trade her 2005 MXZ Adrenaline (5900 miles) for a new sled in a couple weeks, and she's now decided that it will be another 'Doo. I've replaced countless idler wheels & a couple sets of hifax on my Yamaha, and her 'Doo has only need 1 belt & one set of hifax. Oh well, maybe in a couple years.

This isn't the first story I've heard of Yamaha being really fair in situations like this. I really think doing small things like this for customers goes along way.

I've got 4300 miles on my Apex and the hyfax are original and I think will last another 2 thousand miles. I've never looked at my plugs and my belt has never been changed. I haven't had any wheel problems and other than a oil and filter change I've done nothing to it. My Wife is also getting a new sled for next season and we have narrowed it down to a GSX 600 SDI limited or a FX Nitro. We will make a decision after we get to see them at the Spring shows.
