Out West TY Ride!!!

I own the truck and pull the trailer so that would be covered. LOL

Yah, but Paul you are halfway there for most of us.

If you hauled sleds and gear, where could you make the pickup point. ( north of you somewhere - I presume )

Should have bought that converted tour bus with a 2-tier / 8-place sled deck on back, and a camper in front.

If there was snow in Mi I may be convinced to drive up therew. I need to figure out the miles and then I could pencil out fuel cost. may be cheaper to rent depending on the #'s. Paul

PS Randy, I always come get you and Dave for a good ride

I'd love to get back out to Togwotee again. I'm sure I could fill a truck and trailer with non piano riders, but depending on the when's and where's, I could pick up some fellow TY'ers instead.

First, are we looking at renting cabins or staying in the lodge, or both?

2nd, I'd be leaving from Northern MN, I usually head across I-94 through ND and Montana, and then head south through Thermopolis, but I have gone south across I-90 as well. Anyone along the way possibly be interested in riding along?

I have a crew cab Duramax and 4 place trailer. (non enclosed)

What kind of deals are we looking at for lodging?

Paul, Maybe we could meet at Dave's or near by anyway. How far is that for you?

Better for you to meet me at home and then continue west to Pauls. He's about 2 hrs. west of me in the CORN state. Be a LONG haul no matter how we do it. That would put you, me Paul and Brent, if he's going, in one rig. Gotta' get some date though. I am thinking late February or early March. Best time of year for newbies. LOW avy danger and less people at the lodge.

snowpro, get that sled together and join us. My attak is r0ckin' with the 144 Expert. Going to put a taller lug track and 8 tooth drivers before heading west though. The 1.5 is definitely marginal for Tog.

My riding group wants to go West and I keep saying "NO" I don't have the right sled for it this year, not sure how a 144 Apex would get around (how balanced are they with a 144). The last time we went out I was running a Rev with a 136x2 and had a blast, so I should just suck it up and go, lol!!!

Having gone March 08, I think I'll be OK with a 144 with at least a 2" track. Might go 2.5, just have to see what's available. Slydogs, skidplate, and my Rox at 5.5 high works pretty good in the Yoop. I'll definitely stick my Hauck Mountain exhaust back on. WAY lighter and WAY louder than stock LOL! Looking forward to some dates so I can start planning ;)!

Tom, there are a lot of areas to go out west. I belive Togwotee is the best for a large group of 20 or more. The nice thing about the Towgotee area, or the Continental Divide area, is it has THE best trail system and riding area, just see Snowest best place to ride. Well marked and well maintained trails. This area offers something for everyone, from high marking to old lady trail riding. We always stay just down the road at Mackenzie Highland Ranch, but they do not have the amentaties that Towgotee has, bar, gas, food. So, when are we going???
