Has anyone used a performance chip that I have seen sold on eBay? If so, do they work?

They really work!!
I heard that these chips work awesome! And they are cheap too....best bang for your buck! And really easy to install, five minutes or less and you get an extra 30 ponies. Aaaaaand GOTCHA!!!! They dont work. Like the others said, been talked to death about. You just happen to be this weeks poster about these chips. Stick with Pringles if you want chips. You'll get more use out of them.
We will just wait in waiting for the next guy to ask.
Maybe it should be stickied into the FAQ section? haha

If you look at the picture of what is inside of it, all there is, is a DIP resistor network. Basically some resistors in one package. They are using one of them. Cost is 20 cents or less. No computer in it, no memory, no real electronics period. They don't say which sensor they fool with this POS but most likely the air or coolant temp sensors. Would it actually do anything? Hard to say but probably not. No way in hell will you see +30HP/40TQ out of a 4 stroke yamaha motor. For those who wanted to fool around, get a potentiometer, wire it up to various voltage output based sensors, sit out on a lake or dyno all day long and twist the knob and measure the results. You may or may not find power.
I design, develop and manufacture REAL chips/programmers for a living and wouldn't put this thing on any of my sleds.
