Looks great! I like the hydrodip. I looked at what they have and you picked the best one. I am thinking about getting my sone to paint my machine. Thinking about a lightning scheme.

I tell you what, my brother-in-law found this contact and enlightened me on the hydrodip process and I am hooked for sure! It is strong, it looks great and just freshens everything up!
Let me know if you need help with the hydrodip process. Pretty easy and straightforward, just scrub everything down with a good degreaser ie purple power/simple green and take all fastners/clips/unneeded stuff of and ship out!
Cool part about the dipping process is that the base color can be whatever you want it to be! I chose white obviously with the black vein. I think a black base with white vein would look killer as well!

Hey 550ss -
I'm looking seriously at the EZ-Ryde and want to get some opinions from people who've installed them. First, the skid has no limiter straps, so by design it moves back (away from the drive axel) when compressed - right? If that's true, then you would have to run the track tight (not super tight, but for sure not on the loose side) in order to prevent ratcheting - correct? Second, I've read that this skid takes a fair amount of tuning to get the right set up, and so I'm wondering how quick and easy can you make changes to compression/rebound damping, etc? Third, if this skid were used 80% of the time on trail, what sort of hyfax life could you expect - average, below average? Fourth, I've read one thread where a guy was continuing to have an issues with the bolts mounting the front of the swingarm working loose after every ride - ever have this problem? Finally, the rails on this skid look a bit thin (but then I've only seen pics). I know this skid is used a lot in hill cross, but have you, or have you heard of anyone bending the rails? In your opinion, how robust is the skid? A lot of questions I know, but it's a lot of coin to drop on something and I want to be reasonably sure I'll be happy with it. Thanks in advance for your help.

550ss I will get with you on that. I think it would look great. I really like the way yours looks but I have to agree going the with a black as the background would look really good too.
I think that will eb a summer project. How much did it cost? I would also like to hear about the EZ ryde. I am torn between it and Moutain Tammer. The one thing the MT has is you can adjust it while you are out riding with no tools.

Well guys, Ohio has been marginal to say the least with snow this year. This truly has been a goofy winter. One day sunny 50 degrees, next dau 20 with blizzard snow, next day 37 melts snow and rain, etc. etc. So this past week, we got a little clipper with 3-4" and I had to take the sled out for a maiden ride.
The reviews are in and the sled performed so great! I am totally impressed with clutching and the EZ Ryde performed great! Heading to the Snowies in March and I can't wait to test it out in the deep stuff.
Noticed my chaincase slipping under full throttle launches so I brought er in, gave the adjuster a 1/4 turn and all is well. Reverse shifts in and out great and the new clutching rips!
Very impressed! Now if only this jacobson rollover valve would cooperate with me, wed be good to go!
Heres a pic

Hi Lash,
That color combo would be awesome! Depends on what you get done really. Its not cheap, but its well worth it. I think it ends up coming in right around $40 per piece on average give or take. I maybe put $500 into it but had a little more than 12-14 pieces with shipping.
EZ Ryde would be a great summer project. It was a good one for me (although I continued it into the fall/winter lol) But super easy install. One of the more easy read skids I have done. I agree with you on the choice between the MT and the EZ. My opinion though, what really do you need to adjust one the skid besides track tension and shock compression on a rear skid? Will it really make that much of a difference? I want something that you get on and ride and doesnt eed any adjustment every 5 minutes to get the perfect cadillac plush feel lol. You think the skid will hold up season after season with that many adjustable and moving parts? Just my thoughts. Both great products, just some reasons why I went with the EZ Ryde. The skid speaks for itself especially at all the hillclimb championships.

Thanks for the info on the EZ. I will keep the hydro in mind for the summer. Your machine looks great. Glad to hear it performs the way you want it too.

Hey lash,
Fuel tank is a rotopax 1 gallon for the time being. They sell a 2 and 3 gallon and also other pax options like a storage container and others for easy disconnect and go.
Love their stuff...they make a nice product!

Throwing this out there, will be riding the Snowy Range in March and am wondering if I should take then sway bar off my sled...never run the phaz without it, but what is everybody's thoughts? Thanks!

Give it a try. I mad a quick disconnect pin for mine. In the powder it goes right over. If you ride on trails you will have to adjust the front shocks stiffer.

So lash, do you normally still keep it connected even in the deep stuff? I have floats so adjustment of the shocks isnt much of a problem for me.
Let me know.
Thanks,
Brad

I keep it connected until I get to a good place to play. If I am in good powder I leave in disconnected, once I hit a trail or hardpack I hook it back up. I was running with the shocks set to the softest position and the machine would run tilted to one side or the other on a trail. Just a light tug and it would run right itself, but you would have to use a lot of body english in a corner.

whats the verdict on the skid? With the issues I'm having and how afraid I am that the linkage will brake again the EZ ryde would be an alternative to the other upgrades (or selling the sled and getting something that will hold up my weight and riding style)

What do you think about the Rotopax? I'm thinking of it and I would like the 1,75 gallon set.
