K&N has a filter for the Phazer that has a nut on the end of it for easy removal. It's a KN-147, and I picked one up at Autozone down the street from my house for $14.

K&N will be the next filter I install on my Phazer. A nut on the end of the filter will make changing much easier.... Wow is it a tight squeeze to get to the filter!!!!!!

Oil Change is a nightmare.
I changed the oil on our 08 mtx this week. I can't believe the amount of time it took or the number of parts that had to come off in order to get the job done.
Even the windshield bracket came off to give enough room to get the headlight shroud off.
Next time around I hope the engineers at YAMMIE rethink this one. And how about how they hid the filter away. I even had to take the oil cooler off in order to get the filter off. I like the nut on the end idea. Next time I will get one.

Re: Oil Change is a nightmare.
As I began to change the oil & filter today I soon understood why in the manual it states that to change the filter "Bring it in to your dealer." Without a well supplied tool box and a little "Know how" this job may not be for everyone. I'm glad the oil change is only once a year and the filter is every 12k.
