2015 SR Viper LE 162 Mcxpress 190
I have a 2015 SR Viper MTX with the MC Xpress turbo 190 kit. I wrapped what I can around my exhaust but the vent on top is still getting really hot and soft. I was wondering if this is common or is there something else I can do. I bought the machine second hand and I first noticed the melted plastic after about a month of ownership.

I have it wrapped now but I'm afraid to spend a ton of money on plastics before making sure I have the issue solved. I guess my next post will be about finding plastics cheaper than factory.

stock vipers have a heat shield/blanket that hangs loose down over the can and is attached to the edge of the hood. maybe that could be another option

The shield that hangs there looks like this pic. It's about 8" by 10". Sorry about the close up pic. I had to edit it down to be accepted.

Do you have the factory heat blanket that hangs from the hood? If so always make sure it's tucked in behind the bat wing before you put the side panel on othwise it will melt just like you have pictured.

When had a turbo on mine I removed the foam from the panels and lined everything with hi-temp duct/foil tape from HomeDepot.
