Ok, spent 5 days riding in the west end of the UP.
We rode from Nisula to Houghton (100Miles) in 25 degree normal weather. Stopped for lunch and took off south and west towards Freida. Half way there, the COLD temp light came on. Not the overheat, but the one that flashes when you start the sled. It does not come on and flash, it comes on solid.
It will come on if the sled sits for 5 minutes, and stays on. Sometimes it will not let the sled rev past 6000 or 7000RPM. The motor and thermostat housing are hot, while the heat exchangers are barely warm (90 degrees or warm bathwater).
You ride it some, and the light will go out, and when the light does go out, the heat exchangers are hot (normal temp).
I am leaning towards a sticking thermostat, but ANYONE here have any clue? It is weird cause the light comes on when the engine is hot, and AFTER it has been rode for hours.

Please give opinions, my dealer is not the best when it comes to dealing with REAL problems.

Check other posts on antifreeze being too thick. Could be thermostat, no experience on that one, bleed air out of system, that's all I can think of right now.
Could be the normal start light that comes on and limits someone revving a cold engine.

If anyone cares, looks like the dealer is going to put a whole new wire harness in it, that is if they can get on before April.
Still waiting for a shock, spring, etc... from last months problems.
