I used mothers and a powerball that fits on the end of a drill. It took me under an hour to polish my Attak. It looked great, until I bent the tunnel and replaced it with the black GT tunnel. I now have to polish my Phazer. It will take under an hour with the powerball.

I did it right on the spindle, just a quick job but it looked real good when done.

I started w/ 1500 grit wet paper. Then went to 2500 and finished w/ 4000. All the time moving in the same direction and one way.
The sides of the tunnel are worth doing the floorboards get scratched up so not totally needed.
i have well over 40 hours of wet sanding. At this point I can take any polish and a rag rub it on and rub it off w/ no black residue on the rag when I am done.
The goal hear is to smooth out the pours in the surface of the alum. The more you smooth them out the more the shine. Once you get to this point keeping it clean is easy. Some wax or rain-x works well. Just wipe it clean.
Happy Polishing

40 hours!!! Holy shizz I don't have that kind of time, I think I have a total of 30 hours pulling my engine TWICE. I bet that baby looks like a mirror.
As a FYI I have a 2000 beater neon where the head lights glazed over and I bought a restor kit and it came with 1000 grit and 2500 grit to sand away the imperfections. 2500 on clear plastic headlights do you think 4000 is a little extreme?

I did one side of my tunnel last night. Looks pretty nice. Do the sealers you guys are talking about make alot of difference for keeping the shine longer or what do they do?

Heres a post I had up a few years ago on a Boss seat install, but It shows what your tunnel can look like if you do it the right way.

i believe it does, just thenk your vehicle is easer to wash after it has been waxed and also beads to water off better, also i will get any resadue left by the polish even if you cant see it it will be on the cloth...believe meleftdoo said:I did one side of my tunnel last night.
