LOL....yeah.

heck I just finished all my mods on my 1200, got her working awesome, and My bud Tom tells me he bought a SW and we are going out to ride it...That was it. I knew I wanted one anyway, but that was the beginning of the end of the 1200. Hard to stay away from the big power.

I just want to ride mine stock(100%) for at least a few good rides and then do things incrementally.....I found over the last 3 sleds doing things slowly, is really gratifying. You can really feel each step, as you work towards warp speeds..haha

Dan
Totally get it. I rode mine stock too . . . into the trailer at the dealer, out of the trailer at home, and sent the ECU to Ben that next day. Was EcoTrail, SuperQuiet and Dalton with .1 miles.

EVO Stage 4. I also researched as much as I could before I bought. I really liked there AFR numbers at max boost. I ran TD 4 Stage on my 1100T which worked well but would thrown knock light with very high quality fuel on powertral setting. Also have a bud with same tune on his 1100 and his is even more temperamental. That said, the Suzuki is a very different power plant and have heard nothing but good about Bens tunes for the 998. My SW was tuned from the get go and I was extremely pleased with its performance. I honestly don't think you can go wrong either way, as long as you run the fuel you need if you are boosting over 15 pounds. I would buy a tune from any one of these guys.

The 1100 turbo sleds are very prone to knock.
265HP on the 998 is like 210-220HP on the 1100 turbo in terms of octane requirements. The TD powertrail on the 998 has been run with all quality fuels north quebec north ontario even customers ran on 87 at WOT with no issues.
I Still rate it a 91 tune but to cut the story short, this 998 platform is much more forgiving because of the extra cylinder, higher RPM (extra cooling cycles) and stronger bolts pressure on the block.

The countless videos that TD posted sold me. I have no fear holding the flapper wide open for as long as I want. Not a single belt issue either.
We don't have a choice to test like this. Because that's what the crazy quebecers do up north. They ride the railroad bed at WOT for miles all day long.

Thanks for your feedback !

Yes that makes perfect sense. Mine was one of your earlier tunes which actually outperformed the newer tune on my buds 1100. I was always happy with it but that light sure makes a guy nervous. I think you do a great job and are very approachable, and for a customer what else could a guy want. Question, did you hear of any failures for ANY aftermarket tune boosting 15 pounds or less that failed?

We have guys running 14.7 to 15.4 psi on powertrail without any failures in many hundred flashes out there all season last year.
And max 17psi no issues so far (but we tell guys to run 94 octane +) and over 60 passes at 30 psi on my bone stock untouched motor this summer along with another customer at 30 psi too.

As for other tunes I cannot disclose what I know. One has to do research and talk to many flashed and tuned guys to get an answer on this.

If a guy happens to get bad gas, and last season no knock detection, all bets are off. This is why the knock detection is a huge improvement for this season. Just not having to wonder or worry about fuel, as we all can get bad gas sometimes when out in boonies.

I think for trail riding and not holding it WOT on long lakes, even with 87 you wont hurt anything. Its those long runs wot i get concerned...my 4 stage cat did same and I could trail ride all day, but lake and hold it for abit and that knock lite would come on and I knew the gas wasnt so great.

much different animal with this motor...3 cyl vs to two spread the heat....higher rpms equal more cooling cycle and better intercooler location....with td tunes eco and pt are good for all but absolute terrible gas ....higher tunes is where the TD knock invention will shine..

yes you certainly will get the knock protection system, on the dash in the form of the TEMP light flashing and low temp warning on dash. Also you will have a knock gauge on your Phone or Ipad in realtime. And we can make the screen flash strongly to show knock as well. If you really don't want to miss it, we will have an external knock light similar to a shift light that is impossible to miss...

Again the knock light is not necessary for Ecotrail or Powertrail reflash these are very well proven with lots of miles on the trail with any fuel encountered (still recommend 91)
But the knock light will be very cool feature for those wanting to push the biggest HP maps on pump gas like Max17 which is a 94 map right now. But with knock light could be used with 91 octane.
