Anybody happen to know what precision runs for fuel psi in their high volume pump kit? They use a preset regulator with no mention on their site of the psi. Helping a buddy with his sled which has 3R kit and its dying out on big tunes at wide open throttle. Checked fuel pressure at throttle body connection and only have 40psi at idle. This is on the low end of the yamaha spec for factory pump. If precision has their own preset regulator im assuming its to have higher pressure. Would like to know what that pressure should be so we would know how much its down.

The Stage 3R kit should be a 300 kpa pump pressure, which is 43.5 psi.

A Stage 4 kit runs 400 kpa pump pressure, which is 58 psi.

Stage 3R (and 4) fuel pump upgrade kit comes with a 4 bar MAP sensor so that would probably up pressure to 58 psi, key on sled not running.
Fuel pump upgrade for Stage 3 and lower doesn't have a MAP sensor so they use stock 3 bar (43.5 psi).

Ok thanks, its 3R for sure and has a map sensor with the precision bullseye on it but I didnt know if it was a 3 bar or 4 bar sensor they used as Im not too familiar with the precision stuff. So are you saying since it has the precision map sensor pressure should be higher quite a bit higher than stock? And their lower stage kits using stock map sensor use similiar psi as stock? I believe it had 40-41psi with key on and then when I started it it held steady 40psi at idle which is low either way. The pump is also noisy, it has a noticeable whine with sled running even standing 10-12ft away.

I will say the TD fuel pump I put it my sled before this season is twice as loud as the stock one I threw in the garbage can. No fuel issues this year the pump has been perfect. Not sure if this helps but the sound may not be a good judge of pump quality or volume.. Just something I noticed on the TD pump

Ya my td pump is much louder than stock when I turn key on but I cant really hear it whining with the sled idling. He only started noticing the pump whine recently and is confident it was not as loud earlier this season.........combined with the lower fuel pressure its leading me in that direction.

Just heard back from precision and ulmer was correct. 3r kit uses 3bar regulator which is 43.5psi

A 3bar regulator ?

A 3bar regulator ?
yes, the 3r kit uses a 3bar regulator(43.5psi) and stage 4 uses a 4bar regulator (58psi)

I though their email sounded odd as well since we normaly use the term 3 and 4 bar for map sensors but after converting bar to psi it matched up to what ulmer posted

A 3bar regulator ?

With the Precision kit, you change the fuel pressure regulator on the end of the fuel rail.

Their fuel upgrade standard kit (which will work on any Sidewinder, stock or modified) includes a 3 bar fuel pressure regulator (300 kpa, 43.5 psi).

Their Stage 4 kit utilizes a 4 bar fuel pressure regulator (400 kpa, 58 psi).

If you'd like to try just the regulator, I have a 3 bar regulator here, that will slip right in, it's only a snap ring to change it. Then it would tell you if it was the pump or just the regulator.

I will let my buddy know, the sled belongs to him.He spoke to them at precision yesterday afternoon and they were going to send him just a pump and wanted him to make sure the filter socks in the tank were good and clean first before trying the pump. If he needs the regulator Ill let him know you have one in stock. Thanks
