Everyone knows about how tight the sliders are on the primary clutches and the reason is the damper sliders Time to remove.

Go for it! I could have swore my SRX only had one side with the oring.

# 14 is remove from my clutches

So does it make more noise? Is it a noticeable difference in action?

I have 700 km on my sled and I cleaned my clutch and it still binds. So im going to remove o rings #14 . My old 02sx viper never had them and the clutch was never as tight as my sr viper.

I agree. Eventually they break in but should be fine without them.

Both of ours are smooth as glass after cleaning the belt dust out and polishing the residue from the main shaft.

Mine is also. Just falls down on its own. I do remember how quiet my clutch was for the fist 3-500 mi. Then the familiar Yamaha rattle was back. I believe clutch breakin is much more noticeable than engine break in.

Yep and aftermarket weights make that rattle come back even faster, due to pin wear.

Lol don't see how it could get any louder even with stock! I don't worry about it. It's like a Ducati or my Cannondales. Noisy rattling and goes like mad! Kind of a signature thing.

As posted elsewhere, I put used heelclickers that came with pins and side washers in a Nytro with 15k miles and it quieted it down like a 300 mile sled. Really surprised me. Heelclicker says to use there side washers specifically, for what its worth.

I'm going to have my clutches machined so when I put it back together I will leave the o rings out.
My primary clutch is spotless and with cover and spring removed it still will not drop by itself. There are score marks on the towers where the damper sliders travel

I wonder if the side washers are slightly thicker?

It's either that or wait for it to break in. Does it drop with cover installed and torqued but no spring?

With the Drag 'n Fly clutch weights, the roller is tucked, so there is no play between the weight and roller, so no rattle. This was the quiter set-up on my Nytro.
