What do you guys do? I have seen people just wrap the the ski tips and pull with no rider, but man that seems hard on the steering equipment?
Others hook the spindle and have someone ride and steer and brake
I am taking the SW on its first ride after I am pronouncing it all fixed this weekend, wish me luck!

I have always hooked up to the lower A-arms right by the frame with a nice strap that hooks back to itself (no metal hooks on the A-arms) and had a person ride to steer and brake on the dead sled. Never bent anything or scratched A-arms that way including pulling my buddies dead ditch pickle for 50 miles one time.

I use this one and around spindles. A longer lead strap would be nice to provide a little more room between sleds, but it is good otherwise.

Well the proper way depends on if it’s your sled and fully insured or not. That’s all I am saying Kinger. Good luck and hope you find snow

If track rolls, belt off , the rope to spindles and rider on to steer and brake,-works great and not that hard a pull on packed trail, during one LONG tow >20 miles my buddy and I passed people on the lake.....funny looks on their faces....we just waved ‘have a nice day’.
If track is locked up we have wired plastic kids sled, to front half of track one time even bought some valley tin at a hardware store and wired to front part of track- goal is slide but some drag to keep it behind the pulling sled. Most interesting was when a Polaris chain broke, I pulled him a long way and down hill was scary as I had to stay ahead of him—-he had no BRAKES- one road crossing comes to mind. Oh boy it was close.

This design works really well. I had to be pulled out of the bush at the end of last year and I have a similar setup. This doesn't put stress on anything and allows you to steer as you get pulled along like a frozen loser. Sorry I think I used my outside voice instead of my inside voice on that last part.
Good luck this year.

Get a ride to the nearest bar. Go in have a beer and pay someone twenty bucks to go get it.
Call your buddy to come get you with trailer.
After buddy arrives buy those two guys a beer to go load it in the trailer for you.
Thats how I tow mine!

We put tie down bumper to bumper with about three feet between sleds. After removing belt of coarse.
Snow from tow sled does not come up on hood so rider can see where they are going. Ride on dead sled to use brakes as needed.
Pic is ran out of gas trying to stretch it as far as possible.

Pretty slick idea but the log on the ski is supporting the log that the track is sitting. Goal was to tow sled without spinning the track. I've used a kids sled before but when in the bush, that right there is pretty darn smart.

I have the same as snowdust and have used a few times and it works well. One around each spindle and the other strap to rear bumper. Also agree that a longer main strap would be nice. Snowdust if you find a longer one let me know
Proper way is lift ski of towed onto bumper of towing sled leaving back of ski dragging in snow. Tie ski around spindle and bumper as tight as you can get it. Have rider of dead sled hop on your Yamaha with you and drive. I have towed using Phazer at 40+ mph like this and you hardly notice it back there.
