Here's a product I bought but haven't tried out yet. It's called http://www.alumaclear.com/ This stuff is like $20 to $24 bucks per spray can. I plan on trying it on some polished risers but I have my doubts as to how it would hold up on the flexing of a snowmobile tunnel.
Also if your just looking to remove finger prints and streaks on a piece of Aluminum you've all ready polished I use a little corn starch to wipe them away.

downside
downside to polishing my friends. u either keep polishing, or paint. clearcoat sucks. any nics and water gets underneath and turns grey and clearcoat white and flakes off. all the guys in RI did it to bike frames, both ways. then wondered y after a ride to the beach profilin it was nasty...SALT AND HUMIDITY!! well i got bad news. ur sled sees tons of salt at every road crossing and parking lot. polishing looks SWEET but its way too much work.

I polished my tunnel and sealed with ZoopSeal. Only have 600mi on my 09 FX but so far so good. looks like it will need some touch up polishing later in the season but at least it won't oxidize any more.

Busch Super Shine Aluminum Polish and Busch Wax and Sealant.
Very little buffing, wipes off easily and stays shiny for the season.

I believe Zoop seal is no more and it is now called ShineSeal. I bought this and applied it yesterday. What is the best way to do this. I applied a light coat and wiped off excess but it left streaks. Also now if i touch it with my bare hands it takes the sort of haze off the tunnel left behind by the ShineSeal. Its almost like i can rub it right off with my fingers but tryed to buff the streaks and can do nothing there.

My tunnel is polished and will always require the maintenance to bring back the shine. I simply towel dry it in the heated garage after a trip or ride till dry. Then 30 minutes later with the Mothers and it is awesome again. I have not found anything that will prevent me from doing that yet.... No big deal to me
