I like a key "ON" feature for certain items.
I have a 1200 4tec doo with pushbutton start...while its convenient, for certain accessories I prefer a key "ON" feature, such as running GPS, turning on LED SIG lighting/Handgaurd LEDs...... all while engine is not running trailside. Sure you can add other switches for these things but I prefer a KEY ,OFF/ON/START function.
So IMO its not the key that is issue...its the poor location to get your hand into with the small window. Works fine with larger window.
So, As I was ogling the now 50th at the show Sat..i had the hood off one and see that it will be an easy mod to MOVE the stock key location to where I can turn it with easier access...and then maybe fill the orig hole with a 2nd +12v plug.
Ill keep my key with all the features I like for GPS and Lighting ON function trailside, and have a better access with gloves.

The way I'm setting it up the key will still be in place ....so can start from key or push button. Typically riding in the mountains we do a lot of stop starts. So having the ability to kill power with the kill switch and push button start will be awesome. But the key will still be operational. That my plan.

Wayyyy better...planning on cfr bars so I'm going to try to get it wired in after we are done riding. Then move the handwarmers to the cfr relocation bar with some kind of custom toggles.

Mounting it's simple...let you know after it's wired. Lol.

You probably have to put a relay in. The RER buttons are just for a digital input to the ECM on the doos. I'm pretty sure on the yamaha the current that pulls the selonoid on the starter goes right through the key. That button might not be able to take it.

Yes for sure ...was planning on using a waterproof pigtail relay.

Im sorta thinking it may be the Tcat one.....Sorta cool, with a small nub to make it feel like a shorty, then beyond the nub it bends down to follow curve of handlebar.
