I've got one question that I haven't seen anyone address yet who has actually had the opportunity to drive the XTX.

When driving down a trail at a fairly good pace, does the rear ever start to fishtail like a 121" sled will at times, or does it stay straight and planted like a 136" sled does?

The reason that I ask is that a lot of the trails that I ride on in the UP have some long straight aways where the snow conditions will change during the day. When the conditions are just right, most 121" sleds start to fishtail, where the 136" sleds track straight and true.

Since Yamaha says that the XTX rides like a 121" in hardpack conditions, I'm curious if the tipped up rails have a positive effect or not in conditions like that.

the day i rode one in minocuqa the conditions where that way and on the x-tx it stayed planted and not twitchy or fishtailing the 08 121 was all over the place.

This is related to the geometry change (fix) and not the fact it is a 144 verses a 136 verses a 121. The tail wagging is from to much bite on the front end of the 08 making the #*$&@ end real loose.

Ride a stock 08 then ride an 08 with limiter starp pulled up or aggresive after market ski's and you wil see what I mean. The sled with more bite on the front will want to swap ends a lot easier and give that fish tailing effect.
