Wow, thanks for the info. I didn't think this topic would get such varied responses. I will definitely try the open face helmet. Why have a machine that will fly when you can't see through the 1/4 of ice on the inside of your helmet? I don't know why I seem to fog up easier than others. I think I have a large lung capacity from running all these years?? It sounds like the key is proper fit and NO skin showing.
Thanks for the info

I should have told you that after I couldn't get the goggles thing to work, I switched to a heated shield helmet. Not one fog up in the past three seasons. I use just a standard HJC helmet.

Ride the mtns with open face helmet ,one thing I do and see alot of others do also , is when you stop even for a few moments is put the goggles under the hood on top of motor and let them dry out.

JDKRXW said:No offence, but if you use an open face helmet, you are an injury looking for a time and place to happen.
If you hit something that hard, then you have bigger problems to worry about. All that a full-face will do in a minor impact will be to keep your face from being scratched. In a major collision, it is not going to matter. They will be airlifting you out of the woods no matter what helmet you were wearing.

I have a Mod and also a Snow x open face....love both...if its warm enough, I will take the open face any day of the week....when its cold out....almost not worth it especially if you are doing a long day. For those days, the Mod is great. Very little fog issues. Keep a spare set of resperiator snaps with you as they break at very bad times.
