We've covered the improved ride with about any other skid. I am wondering what the effect on handling is with the Edge or SC10-3 skid. After all, the front skid spring and shocks were not set up for the 4stroke front end weight.
On my first 03 Rx1, I had the handling dialed in after changing skis, straight rate springs, 12mm bar, and long links. But after I installed the Expert X, the sled became very unpredictable in the turns and I was never able to get a good combination of ride and handling. It was one or the other so I sold the skid and later the sled.
Now that I've bought another 03, I am trying to decide between Bender's monoshock (at a new improved price) and an Edge or SC10-3 skid.

No they are still in business, they were bought out. I have talked with them a couple of times in the last week. I do not have their new number handy, but it has been posted here.

What is Benders new improved price and are they still way behind in manufacturing the mono? I put the SC10III in my sled after I couldnt get a mono last year. Yes the shocks and springs are to light (well for me I weight 260 + gear) I put in the heavy duty springs and I am having the shocks revalved. Last year stock springs and no valving it didnt have enough spring even on the hard setting to leep it from bottoming out and pounding it through rough trails I actually overheated the shock and it stuck down. But I cant wait to get the shocks done it will be perfect. Hooks up way better I didnt have any trouble keeping up with my buddy in the trails on his Apex or the MachZ and yes we rode very very aggressive. As usual with a sled I could get up behind him but it would have taken something dangerous to get by. I could run all over his snoflap though LOL

I too would like to know the 'improved
price, lower or higher?
I think a revalve on any skid is a must before its installed, my edge only has 320 miles on it and I'm still re-valving for weight and weight of the sled. A spring upgrade may be in order as well.

off the top on my head, since I had had my name on their list to supply early, it was around $1225 and I have one on hold. You may be able to get that price if you call soon. This years price was around $1425. This included shipping but I am within 60 miles on them.
I'll probably buy it as i do not want to spend the winter tinkering.
They will start shipping within a week. They told me they were now gearing up for 250+ units and that they may offer their shock for use in the Yami monos. They believe their shock/spring set up is much much better. One spring and a wider range of shock adjustment fits all.
