No, you can get the airbox out without removing the radiator but it is tight in there.

I appreciate the responses ! Really, but Since My question addresses cutting it in a different way , so I can't do it as the rest have unless I buy new or used one ! Doesn't seem to make seses in buying another one unless it's going to do damage ! ????I don’t believe it’s a big deal might even work better since I never tried it. But it’s a pain doing this mod so I would do it like the rest of us have.

I cut mine out a little different than the original air box modification. I don't believe stingray's mod optimizes air flow to the point that no other version of an air box modification will equal or possibly do better than his. After my mod I ran against a similar Viper without any air box modifications (both running Schmidt Bros stage II clutching). From a rolling start he would pull away by 4 or 5 sled lengths but then I'd slowly gain on him and eventually pass him easily until I was 4-5 lengths ahead. Both sleds then topped out at approximately the same top speed. I believe with the mod I lost some of the low end torque but it pulled hard from 50-60 mph to it's top speed.

My answer was just covering my #*$&@. 98% sure it will work fine but since nobody has done what you did it would be irresponsible of me to claim anything. Sorry but part of modding is taking a chance. I know what I would do. Run that thing you made. Maybe you will beat us all!Picture of sled
