i have a '98 banshee with several mods and seems to have this rich low end condition. i have changed pilot jets and have adjusted the pilot screws, but still nothing. carbs are clean. i did notice that the reed petals don't seat tight anymore. they stick open like .015". could that be it. that since the petals don't close all the way, that they let a little bit more fuel through, kinda giving the effect of larger jets? or could this problem be electrical? on the trigger coil, i believe you can set the distance away that it sits from the flywheel. how far should it be? mine is like .017".

i just have to fix this stuttering low end issue. you can give 'er wide open down the road through all 6 gears and it will run fine and pull hard. mains and needles are ok, as plugs confirm this. now, when you get to the end of a longer pull of going through the gears, and you turn around to head back down the road, it will stutter for a while when you give it throttle to start another long hard pull down the road. what is the deal?

I would change the reeds .... it could also be inlet needle and float too, but I would guess the reeds based on your post.

ok, i'll try flipping the reed petals over and see if I can get them to seal a little better. if not, then i'll just order some carbon techs. i'll double check the inlet float though to. I did put a new needle and seat on the clutch side carb, cause there would be a little bit of gas that would drip from the over flow hoses. could the float height be off, creating this issue? i remember setting them to spec last year.
