Ok i traded my xp on a 2006 Apex with a mpi sc stage 2 running at 15psi has head shim. Guy i got it from says he runs it on premium with octane boost? Mpi says run it on 110? What should i run for my first trip? Also he had a ratchet strap holding down the intercooler saying that with big boost sometimes a cooler can come off the intake boots? Dose that sound right? Kind of new to all this so any help would be great thanks.

With a 0.077 head shim (there are all kinds of sizes hopefully you now how big it is) reuires 93.9 octane so pump 93 with booster additve will keep you safe but its right on the edge. If you got access to some race fuel I would mix a couple gallons in and be good to go.
The strap thing is good, it ensures it wont blow off, it does happen and can be scary when it does. As long as its not in the way of anything your best off leaving it on there.

If MPI reccomends 110 at 15# I myself wouldn't run it at less than 50/50 race fuel.
