Quietest performance muffler

Wondering what is everyone going with, I really like the quietness of the stock setup. I realize for good improvement we really need to go with a free flowing muffler.

Is the Super Quiet the quietest?

Which mufflers allow for chain tension adjustments without removal?

Is the Hindle loud? It seems to be the lightest and looks to allow access to chain adjuster.

I see Ben offers a nice package of muffler, flash and Dalton weights.
I now have 1000 miles on the EcoTrail/SuperQuiet/Dalton and will do a write up this weekend, but in short - I couldn't be happier.

BTW - while not ideal, I can R&R the muffler to get to the chain tensioner in about 10 mins.

I've done the same test with a db meter at the same distance and even the turboforce passes this test. Not very hard to pass. The super quiet passes it easy as well. And the td stock modified is close to stock sound level.

Ive got the videos I've never posted them.

Ben, it would be a really good advertising note if you would find an agent or warden to back up the decibel test you did.... like I did. (Trying to help you out here)

To say it does with your own equipment and to have a documented piece of paper saying it passes from a DNR Official....are 2 different things.

My test is done the proper way. Cool that you had a warden come and do the test for you. I already own db yesting equipment we've been manufacturing exhaust for many years. Same way as you shown...

If i have a chance ill post the videos. .

Great conversation guys....

First and most importantly, YES a tune is needed with any free flowing muffler. So lets all agree the tune is something not only NEEDED, but wanted for me. And its nice to see sellers offering package deals.

I am a big research guy, and pro/con type person to weigh out all/any setups....I am not only looking for the performance and noise factor, but an overall quality product at a fair price point, and when buying in Canada it becomes quite abit more costly when using a US based seller with the exchange and duties and shipping ect.....

I like to give them all a fair chance and that is what open forums are all about, voicing your opinion on things and coming to a consensus that the majority feel is good. While that sounds easy, it becomes difficult when such a new model has gained such huge popularity among the aftermarket gurus. I for one, wish just 1/16 of the popularity of the SW was out there for the 12004tec.(but that is an entirely different story) LOL.

I have a great respect for Ben and his PT flash/SQ 2.5'' muffler/Dalton weight setup.... as I ran this on my cat with awesome results, I feel like Ben rides the type of flatland trails, and cold temps similar to my area. I also feel like Ben offers a nice package deal with Powertrail,Muffler(choice), and Dalton weights(which are adjustable on the sled without removal) All these reasons are why I went with that before on the cat.

I see some CAN outfits pricing in US Dollars, and ofcourse the US sellers are all in US dollars, which is yet another reason I typically keep coming back to Ben, as he is priced in CA dollars and within a 4 hr shipping to my door here in central Ontario from his shop in Qc(Just east of Ottawa) Looks like $1549cad for PT, Muffler choice, and Dalton weights

I have a few questions for Ben....

1- Specifically, what is HP rating with PT flash w/below combos?
a-Stock/Modded Muffler
b-Super Quiet
c-Hindle
d-Turbo Force

2- What are the weights of each Muffler?
a-Stock/Modded Muffler
b-Super Quiet
c-Hindle
d-Turbo Force

3- Which mufflers allow for chaincase adusting without removal?
a-Stock/Modded Muffler
b-Super Quiet
c-Hindle
d-Turbo Force

4- Do you setup the Dalton Weights or are they directly from Dale and we setup slugs?

5- What is the turn around time on the stock modded?

6-Most importantly.....Can you tell me how loud the Hindle is compared to the SQ? I assume these are the two quietest free flowing.

Fpp looks to have a nice quiet can too. Also greg at jaws is working on one as we speak. And it's not an import car muffler either.

wow, alot of choice out there! I know we have a prototype here from Graham to test too, but it looks to be loud! haha

I really hope to hear more of these as the sound is most important, dont want too loud to attract attention. I tried a 3" sandale on my cat which made alot more HP, but man it was loud..lol

There is only 1 performance exhaust that I know of that passed DNR decibel levels....and you know which one that was

We do not do decibel testing up here for sleds...at least not in Ontario and I'm pretty sure Quebec also. So for us guys in Ontario having it advertised as "it meets legal sound levels" is a lie....it's great for US customers, but not for us Ontarians lol

NOS did you ever get a decibel reading on the bullet exhaust?

Yes, not from the DNR tho.

When the DNR was at my place, their decibel unit read under my phone app so I wrote that down.

91-92 decibels which is 3-4 out or tolerance.

super quiet is a great choice from td..

but one of the quietest, enter Excell into the mix....HMF built with quality and repackable serviceable!

2017 Yamaha Sidewinder Run1 - YouTube
you are posting the stock muffler video, just so you know.

the excell is not very quiet IMO, its likely same sound as the hindle with same design, and +12db over stock.

Terry, can you tell me how many DB over stock the EVO magnum is? (their quiet one)

thnx

this is the excell muffler sound, much louder then their stock video above

Hoping that his dealers will be able to flash ECU, don't want to take a chance shipping mine. Maybe a road trip to Quebec will have to be made.
