Yamaha Phazer 2007 GT
Hey Guys..
I got a 2007 Phazer GT
My first ride out I had to pick up my sled in the back just to move it on to some packed snow. When I got back home I noticed that on my rear bumper when there is a little arm that goes down that attaches to the snow flap mount, that weld broke..
I think it might have been weak due to I got the rear bumper powder coated and they sand blasted the whole thing prior to coating. Not sure if that really would weaken the weld but just a hunch.
So my issue is what should I do to replace it?
Option 1: Buy a 2007 Rear Bumper for $193 roughly from a yamaha parts website.
Option 2: Buy a 2009 Rear Bumper for $120 roughly. Which makes no sense to me because the 2009 rear bumper those little arms that go to the snow flap mount are reinforced so they don't bend or break like mine did. Why is it so much less?? (if the 2009 bumper even fits the 2007)
Option 3: Find a used one
Thanks for any input!

powdercoating would not weaken teh welds.I woud just take it to a fab shop and have them repair (if you dont have a welder).

Mine's PC'ed and I yank on it a lot instead of waiting to use reverse, could've just broke from inside rusting??
Weld it back up & spray paint color if you can match it, save some $$$.

Yamaha Phazer 2007 GT
I looked on Skinz and they don't have a rear bumper for a phazer..
I will more than likely either replace it with a new / used one or fix it and beef it up a little more..
Thanks for all the input and keep it coming!
Would this one work on an 07???

I would have your bumper welded and then powder coated. I would think you could have it welded and powder coated for around $100.
