Is it recomended to add a rear heat exhanger on this sled?

I know there was some problems with rx1's according this issue but I havent heard about cooling problems on the apex...?

Would be nice to know beacuse I'm just to start this season with my 06 rtx and I have a rear heat echanger laying somewere from a srx 700 and I guess this will fit right on the apex...?

No issues with that machine. I had the same sled. As long as the antifreeze is a normal mix, you should be fine. Both my 06 RTX and 2007 Attak came from the factory 100% antifreeze.

Sorry, I have a stupid question. How can you tell if you have 100% antifreeze in your machine?

Go to your local auto store and pick up a hydrometer. That's a fancy name for a tool that measures the specific gravity of a liquid. It is indexed to give you a reading of what temp your coolant is safe to.

You don't want 100% antifreeze. 50/50 or 60/40. He was saying 100% antifreeze was the problem. If your sled doesn't overheat, dont worry about it. If it does, check it. You can buy a cheap one at an auto part store for $3 - $10.

4500 miles on my sled and never overheated except on the asphalt :)

Here is my (rookie) idea how to check your coolant. First of all you need to find a Ethylene Glycol coolant checker NOT a Propylene Glycol. I ran into this before when I worked on Propylene Glycol HVAC system. Here is a model I found that can tell you if your coolant is over a 70/30 ratio.

Cooling System Diagnostics, Anti-Freeze Tester for Ethylene Glycol (Thexton: model 106)
