Last night while working on my 136 conversion I noticed the front arm in the rear suspension has started to crack at the weld but hasn't broken yet.
I know there was a lot of early failures on the 2007 but this one is all original parts with about 10,000 km on them.
My brother, who is a welder, is coming over tonight to work on the bumper extension and now he's going to be looking at welding the arm up too.
I remember a lot of people were beefing up the arms with extra gussets back when this first started happening. Does anyone have any good photos of what they did that worked?

No pics of beefed up ones here. But I did go through 3 of them in 2 seasons. The 4th of which just went on my friend who bought my 07.
IMO, and i've done every nut and bolt incl shocks, it has to be a frozen shock or shock gone bad. Just a heads up to maybe dig a bit deeper as to why it happened. Your at the KMS mine was at when it went the 1st time. now shes at 12000. 4 in 2000 kms, not good. I was going to do a search on what the main cause was but havent' had the chance.

Thanks.
I've been though the whole skid and Everything else checked out ok.
My brother, who is a trained welder, came over tonight and rewelded it and gus seted it. We will see how it holds up.
Tomorrow night new bumper for the 136 stretch.

Hey Voda. Just a heads up hoping you still have it out. Those two prongs on the updated pivot arms have a dual layer of the same thickness steel. Gussets look factory!! Great job guys!! I'll try and find a pic for YA. Mine broke there twice in 2010 until sxrtwins fixed me up.

Voda, post 7 by cannondale27 shows what I'm talking about. Beating a dead horse here possibly but it really really sucks fixing this arm over and over.

Hope this helps future viewers!!

Thanks for the heads up.
We had already finished putting the skid back together by then. I talked with my brother about it and he said if it cracked there he'll weld it then.
