I removed my tunnel protectors for my SDR exhaust and crossover track. I'm wondering if people are enforcing the rear part of their tunnel on the xtx. I know the tunnel protectors don't add rigidity but at the very end of the tunnel they did help support the tunnel extension. I ask this because it seems that if you carry too much weight on the rear tunnel or lift the rear bumper it could fold. I thought about cutting the rear protectors long enough and riveting them to the under side of the tunnel just between the rear support bracket and the end the extension.
Just wondering if people have enforced the tunnel or left it alone.
I'm not sure on the XTX but OFT sent me two additional brackets with my tunnel extension kit to re enforce the tunnel with the extension, you could probably contact them and see if you could just get those two pieces
I would think that the weakest point would be where the cut out on the top of the tunnel is. Assuming you're installing a tunnel close off plate, you should be fine.
