Any other guys notice that when your young and fall you naturally roll to the ‘get up’ position all as one movement. Now why do I stop with my head and upper body down and legs up in the air? It seems like I’m going to have to call a crane to get up.....LOL

It's a little known fact Mark that as one gets older your bodies gravitational forces increase exponentially with each passing year. Thus the required effort to bring ones self back up from a prone position requires more effort as you're fighting the increased gravitational forces.
It's as simple as that
