Removed tank, now fuel guage doesn't work

I had my tank off, completely drained the fuel and then put it back on. Now my guage is saying the tank doesn't have any fuel, when it has 5 gallons in it. The fuel guage flashes, the yellow warning light is on and it's reading as if it's empty, but is definitely half full. Any ideas?

Try disconnecting the wires and replugging them back together. Maybe you damaged/pinched the wiring when you reinstalled the tank?

If rechecking the connections does not get it working again, I would open up the top of the tank pull out the sending unit and re-install it. The float may have stuck in the empty position.
