I would like to remove my EC Monoshock on my 2006 apex gt so i can send to pioneer to have a new spring and get it rebuilt/revalved. I am trying to save some money by taking it out myself, but I am not very mechanically inclined. Is this hard to do? Any tips or tricks? Any special tools needed? Do i need to remove the whole skid?

i think you should be able to just unbolt it from the skid/w arms once you have the skid removed from the sled, i'm not positive on that. there is a sticky on skid removal. fairly easy. someone with more knowledge will chime in and give you some more info.

Very easy. Just either jack up slightly from the rear bumper (just to take all weight off suspension, not so much that the track is off the ground). You have to unbolt both ends of the shock (a 14mm nut and bolt at each end). Just remove the nuts. This is where jacking at the rear bumper (to remove weight comes in handy)..once your suspension is "neutral" and there is no weight and it is not being lifted (sag), the two bolts for the shock will slide right out. You will also have to snip all the zip ties holding the shock wire to the front torque arm. Then you have to unplug the shock. You can unplug it AT the shock by the solenoid, or you can follow the cable up inside the tunnel, then behind the reverse shifter mechanism and unplug it there (it is a small with plug) All in all, should take 10-15 minutes if you have not done it before. Good luck!
