I am looking into possibly making a trip up to the tug hill/old forge/adirndack area in general and renting some sleds for a couple days. i am wondering if anybody can help me out as far as quality places to rent from and where they are located. i thought it would be a great family vacation trip (not necessarily during christmas probably late in february) as a christmas present. i am hoping i find a sled under the tree on christmas morning and then the rental won't be needed...but i'm not holding my breath. any info would be greatly appreciated.

Adirondack Mountain Sports just opened up in the old deerfield sport shop building right on rt 12 in remsen. they are dealing with arctic cats now. the guy owns clarks marina up in indian lake also. i talked to them and they are going to be doing rentals. like i said they are just doing arctic cat right now but i believe they will be all new sleds.

PS. he is trying to get the yamaha franchise there too so im crossing my fingers!!

There are a few on the hill, but if you are looking more to the Adirondacks I would look in Old Forge as they have some of the best trails in the NE.
Here are a few that I know of on the hill.
Timberview: www.timberview.com, they are near Lowville and have polaris
FlatRock: www.flatrock.net, again near lowville and have polaris
Barrows Performance:www.barrowsperformance.com, they are in Constableville and rent Ski Doos I beleive.
Hope it helps.
