My 2005 RS rage needs slides again and the slides are larger than the track windows. Has anyone opened a window on each side and removed the slides through the modified window? I don't feel like dropping the skid again to replace the slides. Thanks.

Yes! I did it with my Viper, my Attak and my buddies Rage. Used a new razor knife and then marked them with a white paint stick (marker with paint in it). This gives you a reference point for the next time. Remark it after each change!

I cut the windows near the Camoplast logo on the track, makes it easy to find the large holes later on...

I just lather the track hole with lithium grease from a spray can and slide the hyfax in. My dealer does it this way and it works quite nicely.

I just rub vaseline around the track window and pulled them out through the window without any cutting. ALso if you give the slide a bit of a twist so that it goes through the window on a diagonal it's easier to get through the window then just pull them through.

I was all worked up about this last fall and decided to drop the suspension and go over it good at least one time and experience if this was going to be worth doing ever again. I was pleasantly surprised how easy it went back in with the rear of the sled elevated just a couple inches of the ground and the track tension releived. No major effort was required to get the carriage bolts lined up at all. I won't hesitate to drop it every season now.

I just trimmed a set of windows so the slides could go through easily. Actually had to remove very little, maybe 1/64th on each side--super easy to do. Now I have the option of not having to drop the skid.

I agree with the above posts. I didn't cut anything. Just used a little WD40 and they went off and on easily. Didn't even loosen the track.
