REV SDI vs RX-1

its not fair to compare the 600sdi to the rx1 on mileage. the rx can kick that doos but every time you open the throttle. it should be compared to a vector, same class/horsepower. up here we run lakes wide open for 20-30 mile stretches, and all the 2 strokes use more fuel. on trails at 40-60mph, the sdi doos and the pt800 are very comparable to my "warriorized" rx1.

cvenne, my 03 RX-1 has about 5,000 miles on it and I have NEVER added oil to it. I have CHANGED the oil, but have never had to add oil during a season. You should look into using some Seafoam. I have not used this product because I don't have oil burn problems, but many members have used it. I have posted two links to older threads that should answer most of your questions on it.

Thanks swiss sledder i actually am bringing it into the dealer on Mon and they are using the Yamaha version of Sea Foam. This stuff you actually spray thru the air intake on the carbs and then it cleans off the carbon buildup. You then change the oil....I will then put it to the test.....

run with a couple of 06 1000 long tracks, they were with in a 1/2 gallon every time. they ran preium, i ran regular. they didnt add oil one day 450+ miles and oil light didnt even come on. the sdi sips oil, but it smells like burning hyfax. junkie

Rode with a 600 sdi on Thursday. I have 04 rx1. He took 10 cents less than me. That seems pretty close to me considering i have 400 more cc and 2 more cylinders
