For me, it is a bit different. I tend to take longer than most getting comfortable with anything new. I really loved how my rev handled, but was turned off by the poor reliability. I am loving the conveniences of e-start and reverse, plus not having to deal with the whole oil thing is awesome.

It is growing on me (Only have 225 miles so far), but it will take some more time because I felt 100% at home with my rev. I will keep you updated.

Thanks for your update on the Nytro....All of the responses are very helpfull...you folks are great!!!
I almost bought a nytro you really should try to ride them back to back and see what fit your riding style most of these guys having given good reports if you are looking at a 07 rev i would buy the nytro . if it a 08 xp i go with the doo but again it come down to how you ride

I presently have the 08 Renegade XPX 800 and last year the 600 X (121")
I'ts really helpful when past and present Rev or XP owners give me their impressions. Having owned a Warrior and a Vector for my wife... and 20+ other Yamaha's i miss the reliability and fit n finish of past Yamahas...Before i buy new i'll ride one.. I hope, or i'll make a decision based on what i read and what i think from experiance and the trails i ride...Again...All thoughts good or bad are appreciated. This is a great site that helped me many times with past Yamahas

So I'm assuming, Scott, that you now ride an xp?
What is your take on how you think the XP is different than the Nytro? What do you think the Doo will do that the Nytro wont?

Good question nate007....I'd like the answer to that one.

i do not think the xp can do more then the nytro i think the xp dose them better

it took me a long time to get my XP800R to handle and ride good factory setting suck and the guys who has the nytro same thing

The xp is better in terms or handling the turns and rough trails the bad thing is last year same trails are average speed was 67mph on gps and this was mostly REV 800 AND MACHZX1000SDI

THIS year are average speed an gps is 73mph riding with all 800rxpx so we are going faster to me this is not a good thing we we put the nytro out front same trails average speed is 63mph.

after riding both sled back to back i feel that the xp is a lot more stable in trails and after riding the nytro for 100 miles and getting back on the xp you really can feel the weight the xp is very easy to ride once dialed in it very easy to though around and take big hit .

and i still think the nytro need more power and a lot of guys want to say the xp is junk but the truth are 3 xp have not had one problem and nytro has not i think their a both well built sleds

i buy new sled every year so weight and HP and handling are very important to me and do not think that i do not like 4 stroke i have a apex love the motor just do not care for the chassis

1 handling doo
2 speed doo
3 ride doo
4 build quality the same
5 fit and finish yammi
6.rough trails doo
7 stability doo
8 seat yammi

If you ride Tug Hill at all Srx600 I'll let you try mine out. I've ridden the TNT, and it's a good sled, but to be perfectly honest with you I didn't feel like it was super light on the trails. I know it's light, but it didn't necessarily ride light.

I've talked to a few now who prefer the older rev to the xp as far as the rough and standing up. The xp is better for sitting down though. My buddies sled does not have a riser so standing wasn't comfortable anyway, but I would agree with their sentiment. The Nytro is not the end all sled by any means and might not be the sled for you. Just my observations. I didn't feel that the chassis of the xp gave it any advantage over the Nytro. The suspension of course is relative to the rider and how they ride.

he ask my opinion and that what i think you talk about standing up riding i find it a lot better on the xp over the rev i also like the apex more then the nytro the sled i like the most is my 07 maxhzx1000sdi that why i think it best to ride before you buy find the sled that fit you best

Honestly chief... where in this thread was I ever speaking to you? I was answering srx600's questions with my opinion. Doesn't mean you have to agree.

My friend has a 800 ho rev (06), and I have the nytro. I love my nytro, he loves his rev. I have to say, his rev is a hell of a machine. I've seen him put it through things I'd never thing a snowmobile would do or handle through. Great machine, but a 2-stroke. I was looking at rev's this season, but wanted a 4 stroke above all else, so went nytro (had be hot on it for a while). He is impressed (out of the box, but as it gains dialing in), and, well, see my sig. Its not the same, but its in the same vien and over all I'm very happy with it. Would go back and do it again, even for way less money.

sorry did not mean to get you upset

and to nate007 i i should have said if it was a 600sdi or last years 800 i would buy the nytro

The rev was a better bump sled you could lock your feet in the XP your feet are 6 inches in back of the toe holds and the suspension on the X's is a disgrace. Ski Doo built the XP to please the average rider market so everyone could be comfortable sitting or standing. On the other hand the Nytro locks you in and the RTX has better suspension. Once setup it rails the turns and tracks perfectly through the nasty stuff. My buddies also buy new sleds every year and both have XP 800 X's and both think the sled is a step back from last years XRS. Now if the 800R motor was in the XRS chasis that would be a nice bump sled but would only be good for about 2000 miles before it melts down. IMO the Nytro does everything better than the XP. It just doesnt have the same top end

Thanks Yamanator....I ride the hill VERY often and would appreciate the opprtunity. You can try out my 08 Renegade and get your thoughts...I finally have my XP dialed in pretty good. I still find it easier to go from sitting to standing on my past Revs better....I live in Oneida NY and our snow is pretty much gone for now...perhaps the hill will get some soon.

I live in the Oneida area too. We definately should ride this year. It's too bad there still isn't snow around here. Theres a lot of good riding, down to morrisville and east, west, south of there. I'm probably going to head up to the Hill next week/weekend as long as they get the snow they are forecasting for.
