In an effort To cut out some rotating mass I pulled out reverse. I was surprised to see how much weight came out of that little chaincase....just under nine Pounds in gears alone.... Not A major project but I hope that it will get me some more top end and for one hour of tinkering it was worth it now I just need to get back to Finding the 1000 rmp I am missing With the rat weights

removing reverse isnt going to gain you 1000 rpm, but im sure you know this

removing some weight from those primary weights will.

anyway , let us know what removing reverse does for you...

i hope your friends with your chiropractor...

How did we all survive pre reverse?

I eliminated my Reverse a couple weeks ago as well. Just ride like you did before you had reverse.

kinda weird to think that you cant get a new yamaha sled without reverse... times have changed!

Reverse was deleted in my 700, so with my new nytro reverse is a new feature. Well, when I went to use it last week in some off-trail area, all the track did was dig a hole and rocking the sled didn't help much. I ended up getting off the sled, and just manhandling it around! Im sure on groomed trails it will be nice (i hope!), or maybe I need studs.

I have a sled deck So getting it off without reverse is no big deal and the trAiler is enclosed so I can just drive in one end and out tHe other, I don't think I am goin to miss it. I don't expect it to get me 1000 rpm but Any rotating mass that can be shed of this machine Is welcome.

yukon yamaha, what primary spring are you running with the Rat weights?

Not sure yet i need to keep testing, i have a skidoo 130-350 in now but i have not had time to run it, however it does engauge at 4300-4400 rpm and that is right were i want it to be.....I will be testing all sat evening and sunday

A Skidoo primary spring fits in a Yammy clutch?

Good news!, I used a 130-350 sPring and I was pUlling just over 9370 rpm
