- 2007 Attak - LOVE my sled!!!
Leave home wed evening & head north to Muni.
Get there about 6am.
Find hotel room, unload car, organize stuff in room, crash...
Sleep about 5 hours...
Get up, dress & look out of room.
Yamaha Demo trailer just pulls in... YEAH!
Need to go find sleds, they are on my trailer somewhere in the UP...
Budda had taken good care of me by dropping them off at a friends to get my right slide rail fixed on the RockMeister Express.
Head out to my car & talk with multiple guys in the parking lot that are hanging around just getting there.
Drive towards Christmas & Scotts Engine Repair.
Find the place & pull in.
Starts raining as I park...
Great...
I walk in and say who I am and the guy kinda him-haws....
No... don't tell me...
He says he didn't even touch my sled all week.
Didn't want to take the time to drive the rail to the welder.
I mentioned that I understood his time was important & would have paid him for his time, no problem.
He just stares at me...
(I'm kinda thinking he must be related to the washer guy from last week at this point...)
So hook up to my trailer with the NON-repaired sled & drive back to Muni in a downpour...
Thinking...
Shiiiiit...
It's pouring rain, 40 plus degrees, my sled is still broken...
And I'm 9 hours from home...
What a great trip...
Getting kinda bummed...
Pull into the lot at the hotel, Snowdog walks in front of my car, I floor it, Supercharger kicks in, He runs, I feel better... lol
Not raining at the hotel, apparently it poured then quit.
Park my rig.
Get out & SOBFrogg yells at me...
RIBIT!!! lol
Hmmm... this may yet be fun...
Frogg, Snowdog, Sleddhead, Jen, Jilly, Grumpy, Shaggy, Shaggys woman, & many others cook up food for us.
I have a few RockMeisters, feeling LOTS better now!
Mix up RockMeisters for others, they enjoy.
Apparently their limit is one, imposed by their significant others that are not drinking Rockmeisters... lol
Budda shows up & can't believe the guy let us down with my sled.
Me neither...
I get the feeling Budda feels bad about it.
Scott was the let-down, definitely NOT Budda.
Budda did everything he said he would & I REALLY appreciate it!
Thanks Dude!!!
Figure, no major deal, will ride the Rage tomorrow.
Party with everyone in the lounge after the cook-out is finished.
Mr Sled brings his bro "Thumbs" to the ride.
Hmmmm...
Never met him, but if Raul & The Bob are any sign, he should be fun!
Thumbs never let me down, he IS FUN!!!
A blast to ride & hang with!!!
You MUST come to more rides Dude!
At some point early in the am, I say enough & crash...

- 2007 Attak - LOVE my sled!!!
Get up Friday am, dress, head to the rider meeting & breakfast.
Load up the car & head to Kingston Plains with everyone.
We get there, unload.
Swamp Monster had ridden my Rage last trip & mentioned that it fouled a plug or something, was running on 2 cylinders last leg of the ride.
I brought new plugs & some ignition coils just in case.
Swap out the plugs & an ignition coil.
Rage fires right up & sounds good.
Take off with the Demo group down the trail.
Make it about a mile or so, then lose a cylinder...
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...
Turn around, head back to my car.
Troubleshoot it.
Turns out the input into the coil on the right cylinder is dead...
Thinking it is probably a chafed wire in the harness...
Decide will find & fix later...
Load it up on trailer, that is now carrying TWO dead sleds...
Wanna ride a Demo 2011 anyway...
Jump on a Demo sled & we all line up & head off down the trail.
Riding a base Apex, nice sled.
Switch later in the ride to the Apex SE.
Now we are talkin!!!
This sled just FITS!
With-in 5 min or so, it is doing exactly what I tell it to do.
And I mean exactly!
Better yet, it is almost effortless...
You don't really notice the Power steering per se, you just notice that it is really easy to ride.
Big difference...
Very confidence inspiring...
Didn't wanna give it up, Jen yells at me for hogging it...
Give it up, is safer... lol
Ride about a 40 mile loop & meet back up with the rest of the group at the vehicles.
Hang with them for a while...
Then Myself, Mr Sled, The Bob, Raul, Thumbs, and multiple others take Demo loop again.
Bob lets me ride "The BobSled".
Is major fun!
Thumbs is a riot, tell him to shut-up, he is making my sides hurt...
While on our ride, Mr Sled tweaks the XTX suspension a bit.
(It had beat me up earlier...)
Now it is a totally different animal!
Awesome!
Flys over whoops like nothing now.
Hard to believe a few tweaks & it is that much better.
When we get back to the parking lot, do some runs with the XTX & the SE with some other sleds.
The new ones feel faster, this confirmed it.
The new ones are faster.
We all load up & head to the Woodlands for the Friday fish fry.
Have a riot at dinner & head back to the hotel.
Finish the evening in the lounge playing Pepper Board with Raul & Thumbs.
(Kinda like shuffleboard, but more fun... lol)
Crash again... Am running a serious sleep deficit... lol
Load up the car & head to Kingston Plains with everyone.

- 2007 Attak - LOVE my sled!!!
Sat am.
Ride with Bob & Tom, no point in dragging my dead sleds there... lol
We head to breakfast & then Kingston Plains again.
Bob lets me ride the Bobsled again, is a niiiiice Attak!
THANK YOU VERY MUCH DUDE!!!
A bunch of us head out & we have a blast riding trails, 2 tracks & more trails.
Stop & visit the Lake Superior Lakeshore.
Hard to believe there is almost NO ice at all!
Just a bit on the shoreline with waves rolling in.
The small creek next to us is a raging stream dumping into the lake.
Very serene...
We pick our way back, finding snow as we can.
Mr Sled does a good job of this.
There was only a short run that we had nothing, out of 50 miles or so, not bad...
We head back to the vehicles and the group.
When we pull in, the girls had made lunch!!!
How did they know we were starving???
Holy Cow!
That's awesome...
Thank you SOOOOO much ladies!!!!!
Sitting there in a lawn chair...
Bright sunshine...
About 60 degrees...
Watching sleds going by playing in the Plains...
Kidding around with the group...
Thinking...
This just CAN'T get any better...
Except...
Probably the last day this season for it...
Oh well... is awesome right this minute!!!
Snowdog & I set up some tests on power supplies I had made for the 2-strokes, to make HIDs work on them.
One test goes superbly well, the other needs some minor mods to take care of it.
Good deal, we will have HIDs for the 2-strokes also.
Bob talks about loading up the sleds and heading back...
Noooooooo!!!
No... no... no...
I whine... lol
I only need one more ride to break 4000 miles for the year...
Bob relents... YEAH!!!
Raul & I suit up & take off down the trail...
Raul is on Bobs Phazer, me on Bobs Attak.
The trails have melted down ALOT since earlier in the day...
Turns out to be a good thing... lol
What were small water holes, are now large water holes...
I try going easy into them, it throws water over the hood and slows me way down....
I Attak the next one, the sled planes right through it.
THIS IS FUN!!!
Look back to see Raul fly through one...
You can see him & the sled perfectly...
A 20 foot rooster tail behind him, with water spray flying out both sides 15 feet or so high, would have made a great pic!!!
Raul & I have big grins, we stop and laugh about how much fun this is.
From then on out, we hoped for water holes...
Every water hole was a riot!
I didn't get a bit wet, just fun...
Was funny, we rode the loop & found perfect snow, deep slush holes, water holes and just a bit of mud.
All in all, was good!
DEFINITELY was FUN!!!
Even with a so-so snow year, I managed to break 4000 miles.
Am pretty darn happy!
We have a BLAST of a ride and get back to the vehicles.
Thumbs had backed the trailer right to the snow for us, way cool...
We load up.
Talk a bit about how our last ride of the year could not possibly be more fun than the one we just did...
We wanna do it again, but don't have enough gas... lol
Next year Dude!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Head back to the hotel for the Chili Cook-off in the parking lot.
We get back & it is all just starting to come together...
Nice job guys!
Was awesome as usual!
After the festivities, we meet up in the lounge.
Too much fun!
Thumbs releases some kind of toxic gas...
We all run for the exit... lmao
As much as I don't want this to end, head to bed sometime in the am...
Have to drive a bunch tomorrow...
