So I have a question.
I have looked here and there but I can't seem to find the answer I am looking for.
What is the purpose of the rollover valve kit? I get the tether switch option, but I don't understand why the rollover valve. If the sled flips (and it ends up on the roof) the oil will dump into the top end and not lubricate the crank, but does the valve need power to work. I see that it comes with a wiring harness, so does it has a sensor that knows when its upside down? but what about when the machine is off?
Is the valve more like a check valve and only allows oil to pass when upright? If I wanted to tip my sled on its side to remove the skid would this rollover valve kit work to stop the oil leak, or do I just have to roll it on its right side.
Sorry for the ignorance, but I am new to the nytro and I don't understand how the vavle kit with tether switch works.

There's very little oil inside the motor. 95% is in the reservoir when its tiped over the oil will run out the breather into the air box. Roll over valve prevents it. I don't personally know how it works for sure but would assume its tied into a tether so when you fall off or tip it the valve shuts and stops the oil from running out.

The valve is normal open, when you tip over you pull the tether and it shuts the valve with 12 volts . Now do you get it ? If you shut the Sled off with out the roll over valve not that much oil comes out.

Kind of. When the the machine shuts down after tether is pulled how does it retain power. Or how does it reset once upright

So there is no benefit or safety from laying the machine on its side in garage to remove skid.
Is it true that you should only lay it on its right side/oil tank side

Yes but if you have a set of pinch pliers, you can pinch the line off that goes to the air box

Why tip it on its side to remove the skid in the first place?
Only need the track off the ground a few inches.

I can do it that way. But it's always seemed easier to lift it out when it's on its side. And easier to get it back in on my former sled.....skidoo Rev.

Wrap some hard plastic around the skid.it goes in a lot easier.

remove the wheels and brackets that your preload torsion springs are connected to along the skid rail on both side of the skid. Doing this makes eliminates the preload making the skid easy to disconnect/remove and also to install/reconnect with the back of the sled lifted only a few inches off the floor.

A ratchet strap sucking it all down a mere couple of inches works great both taking out + re-install.

X2. A piece of cardboard on the track helps the skid slide back in too.A ratchet strap sucking it all down a mere couple of inches works great both taking out + re-install.
