I have just over 2000 miles on my RS/Venture and the pin with the spring in it that is used on the left side for the 2 up riding cam is broke off. Looks like it sheared off from ice or something. I was unable to move the cam to the 2 up position because a piece of the pin was still in the hole. I took the cam off the skid and removed the broken pin, I can now move the cam, but it won't stay locked in that position without a new pin and spring. Not a big deal got a new one on the way. My dealer did say that he was told that Yamaha thought this may be a problem with objects, ice etc... taking out the pin.

Mine throttle side pin was a pain to get disengaged last week - it would move 3-4 mm but just not enough to allow you to swing the block down. Possibly a sign of a future issue. 350 miles on the sled at this point.
I had to insert the handle of a pipe wrench into the hook on the pin and use it as a delicate slide hammer to get the pin to come out all the way.

There's a lot of ice build-up in that area, it's quite possible that something could break off during a stroke of the suspension or a near-bottoming situation.

I also had trouble getting the pins out to switch the block . I find you have to thaw it out over nite in the garage if you want to change it .Ok if you know you will be riding two the next day . Not so good if you need to pick up a pssenger while riding .
