Trying to get a pulse on what setup works better, the Yamaheater w/stock grips, or the RSI heater elements connected to the factory wires? I'm still running the factory grips and want to upgrade this season.

NO experience with the rsi grips. But i do have the yamaheater and it works great. No complaints about cold hands hear. I bought two of them. One for my apex, one for the nytro, and this year I just bought my wife a rage. Probably going to need one for it too. Install is very simple and I have had it on my nytro since 08. 3,000 miles later and no issues.

Installed Yamaheater last year and results were beyond expectations. Some guys I've talked to, think it's expensive, but they're worth every penny.

I have the yamaheaters and my buddy has the rsi heaters. The yamaheaters are way better. He still complains about his hands being cold and I complain mine are to hot. He wished he would of went with the yamaheaters instead.

My machine came with the Yamaheaters already installed but I don't understand how they actually work?
Do you just turn them on and leave the factory ones off?
Do they get warmer with the rpm increases or can they be adjusted to maintain a steady set temperature?

If u r not changing your bars out i wouldn't get them they r not any hotter than stock matter afact yamahas update is the rsi's . I have them on only because i put rsi bars on and they where less money than yami's so i would put the yamaheater on . Thats what i'm going to do i have the heaters on high all the time hands r still cold

YAMAHEATER is the way to go...................

If u get it with the booster from what i understand u use the stock controls , this plugs into your stock grips and boost the power to them to make them hotter , so no it does not come with new grips just makes the ones u have bettrer

No new grips are supplied, only the Yamaheater module and the boost module if you buy it as well. They both come plug and play, the only thing you have to mount is the little switch and LED. If the switch is set to off the heaters are controlled by the stock switch. If you set the stock switch to NO BARS and then flip the switch the Yamaheater is set up for FULL POWER mode to warm up the grips( you do this for the first run of the sled in a while when the bars are stone cold) After your hands are starting to burn off from the heat you just flip the little switch back to off and control your grips heat level with the stock control. (even using the stock control the Yamaheater is still working keeping the heat turned on to the grips no matter what your engine RPM is or if you are on the brakes. (the stock setup wont run the grips while you are idling or when you touch the brake, i have no idea why stupid design as well all know)
Yamaheater all the way, I have a set of bars with rsi stuff and without the yamaheater on, they are no different, even a little colder because of the extra thick bar covers they use

Thanks Zakre, first time I have heard in detail how they work

The Yamaheaters are designed to send Full power to your hand grips reguardless of RPM's. I am sure we all recognize that when our sleds are idling it seems that the wattage being put out is far less than when the engine is reving. Yamaheaters send full power to the grips reguardless of stator RPM's. They are controled by the stock warmer switch, when you turn your grips off the Yamaheater is then activated to full power, If you use your factory switch you are on normal yamaha power. The switch is used for the warm days when you do not need hot grips, so that if you wish to have zero power to your grips the Yamaheater will not be activated.
If you have ever had problems with cold hands this will be, BY FAR, the best money you have ever spent!
