Hey, troubleshooting my low running voltage, 12.2 vdc. Aiming to test the regulator. What’s the easiest way to get to the connectors to test. I found it on the right side, close to the muffler, (not sure that was a good spot for it).
Anyway I was about to remove the rad but then I took a step back, do I need to do this?
Read someone removed the steering rod boot to gain access. Has 20100 kms
Any help appreciated, Tks.
PS: Got a 2016 Venture, tests at 14.6 vdc

Started to remove stator access cover, got all bolts loose except for this one, it’s very tight, I got it to turn but afraid to break it. Then I notice a small arrow pointing towards the front. I’m guessing it’s the crankshaft rotation but then I started guessing myself, could this bolt be reverse thread?
I know it sounds silly but I’d feel pretty silly if I broke or not knowing. TIA.

Do a search I remember there’s a great write up about replacing the stator in the Sidewinder section, I just don’t remember from who, hope that helps.

All Stator bolts are Normal Right hand threads I just had one off this last season. You might need bit of heat on that block to help free it up and a new Allen Wrench/driver for best possibly tight fit to prevent stripping that head out.
