I have read so much on the great ride of the QS 3 equipped sleds ,I think I should of bought a RTX LE.
But I didn't...so can any improvement on the valveing or springs be done on my shocks? I think this machine rides firm for me.Even on the softest rear spring setting and Im 225 without riding gear.

The springs never seem to get enough credit for ride. I have an ltx se and it rides great.. (after hours of different combinations)..same weight as you approx. I found the front skid shock/spring affects the ride as well as ski pressure and transfer. But you need some sag and if it's too stiff, that's the springs. For example, we swapped a 2007 nytros very stiff rear springs for a 130 pound girl, with a 2005 vector with a 200 pound guy. The vector has the cheapy black shock, while the nytro had a rebuildable remote reservoir hp shock. Just the spring change was all that was needed...hers has a little sag and rides great, and his same thing. Shocks made little or no difference. Mine is too soft in the first setting and perfect on the second spring ramp. Sounds like you need softer springs to start with.I have read so much on the great ride of the QS 3 equipped sleds ,I think I should of bought a RTX LE.

And...see if you are engaging the coupler blocks when sitting on it...that would mean the springs are too soft.

The spring should be perfect. Try the rear spring on medium or hard setting and see if it rides better. I weigh almost the same as you and mine rides like crap on the softest setting with me on it. I know it seems like it should be the opposite, but mine is Much better on medium or hard setting.
I have an LE, but to be honest, these qs3 shocks are good, but they aren't the greatest thing since sliced bread like some make them out to be.
My front qs3 are set to position 2 all the time. No matter what the conditions are, Position 1 is too soft, position 3 is too hard. Rear shocks is the same thing really.

I wonder if the coupler blocks are hitting, or close, when he sits. I've seen this make a harsh ride as you are always coupled. Like you said, tighten the spring to get the top travel back. The spring should be perfect. Try the rear spring on medium or hard setting and see if it rides better. I weigh almost the same as you and mine rides like crap on the softest setting with me on it. I know it seems like it should be the opposite, but mine is Much better on medium or hard setting.
