this problem sucks for boondocking after awhile if you dont kick the snow off it gets hard to stay on lol

Thought I'd post up some pics of what I did to my boards.
I just drilled 1 1/16" holes

lol thats a good idea i think ill do that but.. does that make ur board weaker?

yes but i belive that these boards are sturdy enough ie there is no noticeable decrease in strength. if you are really worried just do what powdermuncher did. I believe he put like 3 or so rivets around each hole.

I think our running boards are very strong, even when I cut
mine out for the better boards, I pushed on the cut out(prior to
installing the boards) side and the still unaltered side, and
there was no noticable difference.
