RX-1 long distance diagnosis

I'm picking up my buddies mint '03 RX-1 this Saturday and I want to ride it right away with it being March already. Problem is, he just called me and told me when he loaded it up there was a puddle of gas on the trailer underneath it. I'm pretty mechanical. He's not. He said he didn't see any leak around the fuel pump. I'm wondering if there are any known or common issues to check out with the gas lines/fuel system? There wasn't any gas under it where it was stored, only after he loaded it up.
