Does anyone know what the optimum engine temperature range is on a rx1. I just installed a temperature gauge and am wondering what it should be. I contacted 2 Yamaha dealers/service shops and they said between 95-140 degrees Celsius (204-284 farenheight), which seems awfully hot. So just wondering what everyone on here is running around ?

I had a temp gauge on mine. It ran between 190 and 195 when it was warm but I'm not sure how accurate it was.

Mine runs between 60 -80 C ( I have a temp gauge) The idiot light comes on at 100C

I have a rear cooler on mine and my temp is 157 down the trail. It is 151 in the powder.

My Turbo Apex runs 168 F.

Fire your RX 1 up now and watch the Temp Guage.

It should go up and then stop & go back down a couple of degrees when the thermostat opens . That is where Yamaha thinks it should run assuming the thermostat is running correctly.

For us Canuks I would think you are looking for 75 to 85 Celsius as an operating range.

PS: I'd consider another Dealer. Yours appears to be not so bright.

OK I will try that and see were it sits. I was thinking the same thing when the dealer told me that I even second questioned to make sure we were on the same page. Thanks alot for everyone input!
