I have an 05 RX1 ER with 800 miles; when the sled is half full of fuel, the level indicator will be at almost zero and then jumps around and then the low fuel warning light comes on. Any quick ideas for a fix?
Are you running the fitch fuel catalyst? They are the small metal things you put into your tank. The reason I am asking is that maybe it is up against your sending unit and sending a false reading.

Same issue with an 03. I took it all apart. The sending unit looked fine. I ended up "adjusting" it by bending the arm down that holds the float (mine would not read full). That worked for a while, but it seems to come off full real fast again.

No I am not running the fitch fuel catalyst. I wanted to avoid taking it to the dealer to resolve. Possible sending unit or sensor?

I have the same thing on my 2005 RX-1. I even tried a new sending unit. Spent almost $50 on it and the same readings. Wasted $50 for nothing. When I fill my sled up, the fuel gauage goes to full. When I ride the gauge goes down twice as fast as it should. When it shows empty, I still have 5 or 6 gallons left. My dealer has no clue, and is waiting back word from Yamaha on this situation.
