Save yourslef alot of greef and money and just buy a dirt cheap used apex or attack!


In order to make a 03 rx-1 ride anything like the new sleds, you would have to add a 13mm swaybar, have the shocks revalved, add some better skis, and add foam to the seat, and add a handle bar riser ETC ETC ETC..

and it still wouldnt be as good as an stock apex..

You HAVE to replace the rear skid, that is the first priority and will have the most impact, the NO ACTION skid is crap.

Only upgrade the seat if you're girly and need something really soft and comfy under your as*. If there's any testosterone in your blood, 03 seat is best.

Or buy a pair of padded bicycle shorts to wear under your bibs. But if you want to be the only one with a sore, raw, back-side at the end of the trip - be my guest.

Forget the '05 seat - Go right for the '06, you get an extra storage compartment too.

IMHO: Price prohibitive I'd look for a Warrior or if you can swing it: a used Apex or Attak.

i have an '05 rx that i ride.
dislikes: rear suspension, ski's a little too narrow for powdewr riding(soon to change)

likes: about everything else

Thanks guys for all of the replies. Far too many positives to ignore. I just picked up an 03 with 05 sway bar and an 05 seat. Will look into upgrading the rear, and I have a set of Apex skis to install. Will probabaly send shocks in for revalve then add some clutching.

welcome aboard kinger. where are you from? if in the wi.,mn., or michigan area hook up on a ty ride. the more the better. these are great places to put faces and names together. don't forget hayday in mn. sept. 9th and 10th. tom will be in the swap meet.
