Do you really thing Yamaha Cares? Personally I don't think so. I think it's pretty sad that you basically have to replace all kinds of parts after riding a sled for one year. And Yamaha won't do a thing about it. Yeah I know Blah Blah Blah Blah!!! We complain but we keep riding Yamaha's! Moral or the story; No buddy has made the perfect sled yet! So until they do we'll keep riding and wrenching!
Yup. I have to admit I ride pretty hard, and this sled is FAR more reliable than my old Cat, but I have quite a list for a 1 year old sled. I'll see if I can remember everything:
Shreded track from the fingers breaking off.
Brake light didn't come on until the track was past locking up. (should be fixed tomorrow).
Exhaust heat shield cracked.
Broken relay rods in the rear suspension.
All of my rear suspension bushings are worn.
Broken reverse lever (plastic cracked off on a cold day).
Oil usage (1 qt. every 400 miles of trail riding)
Speedometer frosting up on the inside
Backs of my skis are bent upward (close to a 45 degree bend) NOT from an accident
Seat cover ripped in several places (NOT from accident/misuse)
Foam cracked and ripped, full of water.
Rear bumper/grab handle very loose
Chain adjusting bolt threads tight...can't move the bolt by hand for adjustment (been this way since new)
Tabs on the side covers broken. The ones that push into the rubber retainers. Each broke the first time I tried to push them back into the rubber...they just crushed instead of pushing into the rubber.
I'm sure there more I'm not thinking of right now. So far the only thing covered under warranty was the seat cover and foam, brake light switch, and the reverse lever...but I had to install that myself, since the warranty expired while the lever was sitting at the dealer, and they didn't cll me to tall me it was in...I had to call THEM looking for it.
