My father asked me to have a look at his 04 RX1 121" track, to see if I could tune his rear suspension because of a saggy low rear suspension and sinking problem while driving off trail.

When the sled is sitting level on the garage floor it looks very low on the rear, I lift the rear of the sled and the rear part of the track/skid comes off the floor about 2-5" before the forward portion of the skid comes off the floor. I'm guessing that’s causing the sinking so I tightened the front limiter straps almost all the way which helped a little but the front still drops farther than the rear.

What do I need to do to get the rear up? buy fat man springs? or move the rear skid mounting holes down?

We are talking about the rear suspension's rear shock. Right? The rear shock's spring will hold the rear of the sled fully up. When the rider sits on it, it should sag about 1-2 inches, depending on the collar adjustment setting on the shock. If the sled's rear end is sagging with no one on it, something may be busted or loose. Could the spring support ring for the shock's spring be missing (on the front end of the Spring)?

if you keep ur limiter strap too tight shes gonna be bad in the powder.it takes away ur traction.

If the sled is sagging low without anyone on it then something is busted/broken/worn/toast. I had a problem with my Warrior going 'soft' on me after riding a few miles. A new rear Ohlin and a Hygear twisted spring center shock rebuild took care of all my issues. I second what blue03mtn says too, cranking the limiter straps will increase ski pressure and take traction away from your track. Off trail you want to accomplish the opposite. Getting more transfer to the track and lifting the skis up and out of the powder.

Take a good look at your shocks and related parts. Something is busted. I removed both my shocks and couldn't see anything visible but, they were both in need of replacement. Hope that helps... ;)!

you need to rebuild the rear skid in that sled. also do some updating of things that they didnt do.

most of the info is in a post i did on the 2stroke side, search over there, it is stickied to the top of the faq sections.

it will explain alot just reading it.
