Bought my first 4 stroke last year at the end of the season. I got out on one ride in the middle of April and it was a solid machine but the no action suspension seemed to be even worse than what it was in my Viper. Over the summer I was able to pick up a nice SC4 skid from an 06 MXZ800 and now it's time for the install but just have a few questions. I'm pretty sure I will use the front holes already in my tunnel but will end up relocating the rear mounting point because the new skid is about 4" shorter in the center to center distance. Am I right by thinking this? Should I be able to re use my stock drop brackets for this? Any advice would be great.

I just did a suspension swap myself. If you can get measurements from the donor sled it will make your life a lot easier. I just installed a skid from a Grand Touring Ski Doo to help improve the 2 up riding on my Warrior and hopefully it'll ride good solo as well. I got it from a used parts dealer and I was able to get the measurements right from the sled it came from. Take your time

I forgot to add that you want to measure down from the tunnel protectors and not the very top of the tunnel. I got that bit of advice from some research I did here. Good luck again.

I just got done test fitting it....I know the center to center distance is 23 7/16" on the SC4 so I do have that. Just setting it in there I know I cannot use the stock front holes because it sits way to far in. Looks like I may use the stock rear mounting holes or at least close to it. I need to take some more measurements and then make a set of dummy brackets for now so I can be sure its right before I make my new holes in the tunnel.

Yeah like the old saying, measure twice cut once. Or in your case measure twice drill once.

I wish I could help you, but I don't think the 136" Grand Touring mounting points would be the same as you SC 4 skid. I'm sure someone here can help. If not maybe you could try a Ski Doo owners forum.

Much to my disappointment I discovered that the sc4 skid was bent (front of rails) so I cannot use it. Luckly I contacted the guy I bought it from and he refunded my money. Now I have plans of picking up an M10 from an 04 Polaris later on this week. The install actually looks easier too because the stock mounting points will work.

That sucks that the SC 4 was bent, but that was good that you caught it before you installed it. That's good you found another skid to install and you should like the M 10.
