so I was going to try some seafoam this year... what is the best application for this stuff? run it each tank or periodically like storage time? how quick does it take action? should I change my oil more often when using it? thanks for the input.

I run half a 16 oz can in my first tank of gas for the season and give the sled a good run. Then after a few tanks of gas I use the other half. That's it for using sea foam for me for the rest of the season. I just use it to get any varnish out of my carbs. At the end of the season, store your sled with only non-ethanol gas with some fuel stabalizer and start every 1 to 2 months if you can, and you're ready for next year.

X2 you can put it your oil but you need to change the oil after 200 miles and only a one time thing a year.

I don't run it in the oil, just the gas tank. You can run it in the oil, but if you use good oil with cleansing additive in it, you don't need to run sea foam thru your tank then. I use a bottle of sea foam first full, fresh tank of the year. Then last tank if the season I add a can of sea foam to a tank full of non-oxy 91 octane gas to stabilize it.

Like others, I will put about 1/4-1/2 can in in the spring just before storage then about another 1/4 in the fall just before the season.

During the winter, I will periodically put about 200 mm's in every 3rd tank or so. (also depends on where I purchase my gas)

And X2 on "NOT" putting it in my oil, not necessary if your engine is in good shape and has received regular oil changes.

thanks for all the replys... I wonder if there is much difference between this sea foam and the ring free I have been using?? ring free is like 20 bucks for 12 or 16 ounces

Yamaha's Ring Free is a knock off so to speak of Sea Foam. They are very similar products. For me Sea Foam is about 1/3 of the cost of Ring Free so it's a no-brainer, but I'd just go with whixhever product is easier for you to obtain and less costly between the two. Gas nowdays is just crappy stuff, even the non-oxy/ no ethanol formulas it seems.
