My 2011 has 28k miles on it. When I start it cold, the engine sounds like a bag of marbles. I am thinking of adding seafoam to the oil, and then run it for 20 minutes or so, and change the oil. Anyone ever try it in their Apex?

Have never added it to the oil, but I dump some in the gas every so often throughout the season and at least 1/2 can in to summerize it for storage. I also run it in every sled. It's the only additive I've ever actually seen work. Don't normally add to the oil but I have. Just did it with my Tacoma a few days ago. I think it said add 30ml to never liter. Ran the truck for a bit and then changed the oil. Certainly removed a lot of gunk but the looks of the waste oil.

I've done it.. I found a Attak with 2700 miles on it. The oil was milky white. I changed and added seafoam like the directions says.. ran it for 100 miles then changed again.. oil stays nice and clean now after 1200 miles.. I'm sure it cleaned the insides real good.

I don't think it will stop your engine from sounding like a bag of marbles. It's not a magical product and can't repair engine troubles.
Apart from that, it is a good product.

I seafoamed my 02 tahoe's motor through the brake booster vacuum line back in 2008 with 110,000 miles on it....ran perfect when I sold it in 2016 with I bet 250,000+ miles on it!
I run it in my boat gas and sled gas all the time....every tank for the boat.

For what its worth, I have been dumping sea foam in my 2.7 turbo 2004 Audi oil 2000 miles before oil change starting about 75,000 miles. I have 254,211 miles (no kidding I really do have that many miles on it) on the Audi right now. Engine doesn't smoke and still has balls. Its my daily driver to work and back.

Sea foam will remove carbon. The smoke when following directions is awesome!
This old K301 Kohler was burning a lot of oil, so I'd pop the head and wire brush it. Tried sea foam just to see and it cleaned up a lot, but not the hard crusted on deposits. Then I blowed er up...lol! Never seen the piston split in half like that before..
is your clutch making marbly sounds? Or maybe lifters?

Seafoam won't hurt.
I run one bottle of the Yamaha branded Fuel Med RX through the first gas tank every year. A well seasoned Yamaha mechanic I know swears by the stuff. Said he had a high mileage Apex that sounded the same as you described and was running like crap probably from sitting too long. He ran some of that through the gas and all sorts of crud came out of the exhaust pipes and next thing you know it was purring like a kitten.
Ever since he told me that I do it every season. My Apex/Attak now has 16,000+ miles. I first started using the stuff at 12,000 miles and I remember the first time I saw the same thing, a bunch of crud come out of the exhaust pipes. Pat's Motorsports in the UP sells it so when I first get up there I buy a bottle and mix it in on my first fuel up.

Here's the funny thing. My dad and I stumbled across another great product that saved us from cleaning carbs back in the day with our 2 stroke 700 Vipers. It's called Schaeffer's Neutra and it works phenomenal but it is hard to find. It's sold mostly by distributors but you can go on their website to see who sells it in your area. It's called a fuel stabilizer but it cleans carbs and carbon deposits very well. We found out about it from a farmer that uses it for farm machinery that sits a lot. The crazy thing is a bottle of Med RX and the Schaeffer's smells exactly the same to me, plus I think it also smells like the Yamaha Ring Free product.

I have no stake in Schaeffer's but I passed this info on to a bunch of guys at my work and now they all use it and swear by it. My boss at work buys the 5 gallon pail of the Neutra and they use it to desludge forklift motors. Co-workers with sleds, motorcycles,Waverunners and boats are all using it.

It always good to see some positive reviews from fuel additives. This might sound strange but I know a bunch of guys in my area who have for years ran ATF "automatic transmission fluid" in their gas in just about every fill up and they swear it helps keep the fuel system clean and removes deposits as well as keeping things lubricated and not drying out.
I use Seafoam in all my toys. Only the gas. Love the stuff for cleaning my fuel system. I had a 1991 Chev, it was mentioned to me to add some seafoam to the oil before my oil change. When I did my truck leaked oil out of the seals after that. I think it removed old sludge from old seals and caused an issue..

I've never used it in my sled or bike, but I had a '98 Dodge pickup that the dealer told me needed a valve job. I ran a can of seafoam per tank of fuel for the next three tanks. Voila! Compression back up on the offending cylinder. I think I had a carbon booger on a valve seat or something. I dump a can in the tank of my Avalanche about once a quarter, and some in the oil about two days prior to every other oil change as hopefully preventative maintenance. I do dump some in my garden tractor fuel tank every spring. Never had a gas issue, although I only use non-oxygenated fuel in seasonal use engines when I can. First and last tank of the season are non-oxy in the sled for sure.

I too have used seafoam in many vehicles .. mainly as a top end cleaner .. through the brake booster line and get a nice smoke show ! I recently did my 2014 Sierra .. in 2014 they went to direct injection and like any DI motor are prone to carbon build up on the intake valves .. also added to fuel and it quieted down the high pressure ticking noise of the DI ... ran it on sleds for years in the gas once a year first tank to clean the gunk out .. I dunno about adding to oil , I've always stayed away from oil addatives .. 28,000 miles is fantastic !! , Awesome to see these motors holding up for that many miles .. as others have said I don't believe it will fix your "box of marbles" problem .. sounds to me like maybe a valve adjustment is needed with that many miles or clutch noise ..
