Season 2013-2014 is about to start here in Norway.


October 16.

We have snow on the ground and temps have dropped Down in the low 20s F or -6 C.
It's time to start preparing the sleds.

Here's a few pics taken a few days ago.
We have got a little more snow since then but we need another ft or 30 cm to cover gravel and rocks on roads and trails.

October 22.

We have got a little more snow the last week, another inch LOL.
Temps are just above freeze at (33F) today at noon.
Sun is barely above the horizon and will be gone at November 17 when we enter the polar night.
Weather forecast is colder temps With no precipitation, we need more snow, I want to ride.

Winter arrived one month early this year at October 15th, and the first snow stayed.
This is not usual at all, most times the 3. or 4. snowfall is the one that stays.
This Winter have been dry so far but the last few days have brought a foot or more of snow With forecast of more snow in the coming week.

The turbo sled is in my garage for a few Upgrades and some tuning.

Great to see that you still keep the mileage log alive!

I took my first ride today with my second oldest son. I only have the old Vmax-4 as a daily ride anymore. In the garage I have my brothers Vmax 540 and and a modded 600 XTC.

We have got 30cm of fresh snow the last few days, did the first ride yesterday

December 14.


We got hit by a snow storm a week ago.

Moving the snow outside my house, I do not have a snow blower, wish I had, hard work by hand.

Again we've got hit by a snow storm a few days ago.

The sled is where I left it.

I have not yet had the time to go riding, hope to get the time soon as we have Perfect conditions, a few feet of snow and a good base

December 21.


The darkest day of the year, the vinter solstice happened around 6-7 PM this evening.
Pic below is shot at 3 PM.
Full moon in the North east.

From now on we're getting more light every day until the sun Returns at January 21.

December 23.


A few pics to show TY how the daylight in the very Depth of the Polar night looks like at 70 degree Northern latitude.


First pic is shot at 10:10 AM. Notice the street lights are on.

Second pic is shot at 11:47AM. The street lights are still on. Sky is bluish-grey in color, not much light.

Third pic is shot at 14:54 PM. It's already Pitch dark. Not much fun riding this time of the year.

We're looking forward to January 21. when the sun Returns after beeing away for more than 60 days.
That's when we start Our riding season.

December 24.


Christmas day at my parents Place. It used to be a farm back in the days when my grandfather was still going strong.
The farm was shut Down in 1967 when I was 2 years old, I actually lived there at the time
To the North, the Barn. Good snow.

To the South west, in the direction where the sun used to be (it's below the horizon somewhere).

We had Christmas dinner With my parents, my wife, her Brother and mother and Our children.
Very Nice Christmas dinner With Family. In the afternoon we drove a few miles Down the road to my mother-in-laws Place where we unboxed the Christmas presents

December 25.


We got another 4-5 inches or 10-12 cm of snow since yesterday.
Had to get out removing the snow. Temps are just above freeze and the snow is very wet and Heavy.
Had to remove it before Cold weather sets in or else it would be a pain to get it off later on.

The snow is piling up outside Our house and the Turbo Garage.
We have never in all my life had this much snow at Christmas, not as far back as I can remember that is.

Hahahaha I can hear you, will do any day soon Now I have to move the sled or else it will freeze stuck to the ground because of the mild weather, above freeze +2C or 35F.
